Zora Janská

Zora Janska is a Czech violinist. She studied the modern violin at the Hochschule für Musik, Basel (Switzerland) with Adelina Oprean and continued to focus on her interest in the baroque violin with David Plantier and subsequently with Amandine Beyer at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Zora Janska has preformed both internationally and in-land with various orchestras and ensembles (Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Arte Frizzante, Ensemble Quattro, I-Tempi), but has since focused predominantly on historically informed music practice, as for example with the ensemble Primary Colours, focusing on the interpretation of early baroque repertoire. In 2022 Zora Janska created the space KlangAtelier Basel, as a platform for musical exploration, learning and exchange. When not playing baroque music, Zora Janska enjoys free improvisation as well as the exploration of experimental approaches to music making and to dance and movement.
